Adani unveils India’s first silicon ingot | The Smarter E India Expo | Intersolar
Adani Solar, the solar PV unit of Adani Group, unveiled its new monocrystalline silicon ingots at the The Smarter E India Expo 2022 (Intersolar India) recently held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. It is the first silicon ingot to be made in India.
Commenting on this new launch, Rahul Bhutiani, Head – Sales and Marketing, Adani Solar said, “We are glad to unveil India’s first monocrystalline silicon ingot. The ‘Made in India’ ingot, having a length of 2.3 meters, will allow us to produce solar wafers in India. Then, as we progress, we will also have the next step of integration which will be polysilicon. This will make us truly Atmanirbhar on the entire supply chain of the solar module industry.”
Earlier this year, Adani Solar announced target of expanding its PV cell and module manufacturing capacity to 10 GW per year by 2025. Sharing update on the same, Mr. Bhutiani said, “We have already attained 4GW of solar module manufacturing capacity and we are on track to achieve 10GW target. We are also getting 2GW of wafer ingot facility which should be ready in next year.”
