AIREA conducts Renewable Energy Festival in Goa
Renewable Energy Festival of the All India Renewable Energy Association (AIREA) concluded in Goa on 29 Jul. The event jointly organized the first foundation day of the AIREA, the anniversary of the National Portal for Rooftop Solar and the anniversary of the Renewable Energy Festival.
Speaking on the occasion, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, “The way Prime Minister Narendra Modi implemented Har Ghar Jal Yojana, in the same way solar for every house will also be implemented in future. As promised by the Prime Minister, the Central Government is working with the aim of increasing the state renewable energy to 500 GW by 2023 and net zero carbon emissions by 2017.” He also promised full support to all motion rituals promoting solar energy.
Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy Bhagwant Khuba said, “The way the National Portal for Solar Rooftop was started, the government is also considering for the Solar Pump National Portal. It is very important that every scheme launched by the government in the solar energy sector reaches the last person.” Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also shared a video and expressed his positive response and best wishes for the festival.
The event was also attended by Goa’s Energy Minister Sudin Dhavalikar, Joint Secretary of MNRE Lalit Bohra, Solar Energy Corporation of India’s General Manager Finance Department SK Gupta and MSEDCL’s Director Prasad Remshe.
Around 700 eminent personalities related to the solar energy sector gathered from across the country in this event. It was also attended by various prominent engineers of the country and solar associations from different regions across the country. Pankaj Tagalpallewar, Additional Director General of Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) from Pune and Mahapreet Vikas Rode, General Manager, Mumbai were also present in the programme.
AIREA plans to create a suitable background for all renewable energy producers by bringing to the attention of the government the problems faced in the production of not only solar but other renewable energy at the regional level and solving those problems through the government committed to.
