Atlas Copco to open new Manufacturing Factory in Pune
Atlas Copco, a renowned company specializing in compressors, vacuum solutions, generators, pumps, power tools, and assembly systems, is in the process of constructing a new manufacturing facility in Talegaon, Pune.
This advanced factory will focus on producing air and gas compressor systems for both local consumption and international export. The facility includes a manufacturing plant and an office building, covering an area of approximately 270,000 square feet. The company plans to invest around Rs. 140 crore in this project.
Anticipated to be completed by the second quarter of 2024, the facility is expected to create employment opportunities for over 200 individuals while also increasing production capacity.
Philippe Ernens, the President of the Oil-free Air division, Atlas Copco emphasized that this expansion aligns with the company’s strategy to meet the growing demand in both Indian and export markets. The new facility will allow Atlas Copco to engage with new customers, penetrate new markets, and enhance customer service through improved lead times.
Marcelo Kabilio, Vice President of Operations at Atlas Copco India, noted that the skilled teams working at this new facility will contribute to supporting customer productivity and sustainability objectives by designing and producing innovative products.
The Talegaon facility will prioritize environmental sustainability by generating around 80 percent of its energy from solar panels and utilizing three-quarters of its water supply through rainwater harvesting. The construction will adhere to the principles of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
