Autonics Automation India | Automation Expo 2024 Special
Autonics, a South Korean company known for its sensors and controllers, participated in the recently held Automation Expo 2024. At this event, mojo4industry spoke with Umesh Padmasali, Sales & Marketing Manager at Autonics Automation India. The discussion focused on the innovative solutions presented by the company.
In this interview, readers can gain insights into how Autonics contributes to the future of automation in India and their strategies for growth in this market. The conversation highlights solutions tailored to meet the needs of Indian customers.
Please briefly explain what Autonics does and describe your current business presence.
Autonics is a South Korean company based in Busan with a global presence. We are well known for our sensors and controllers. Additionally, we offer products like thyristor controllers, an expanding range of sensors, safety products, switches, and sockets. We have been serving our customers in India for over 14-15 years.
At this edition of Automation Expo, you’re showcasing a variety of products. What are your key focus areas for this event?
I’d like to introduce our new product lineup. We now have an ultrasonic sensor, adding to our existing sensor portfolio. We also launched an upgraded version of our power supply series, SPBA. This is primarily used by panel builders, CNC manufacturers, FMCG players, OEMs, and other end users. It offers features like overcurrent protection, overvoltage protection, and overtemperature protection up to 70 degrees. We have benchmarked it against international competitors, making it a price-competitive product that can help us increase sales in India.
We have also introduced a spatter-proof sensor used in automotive welding sections, including robots for welding cars, scooters, and two- or three-wheeler body parts. Previously, we only had two-wire sensors; now, we have three-wire spatter-proof sensors, which are in demand. Additionally, we have launched a unique programmable buzzer that allows users to customize the sound or tune it plays repeatedly.
To support Industry 4.0, AI, and IoT, we have introduced IO-Link sensors, which are widely used by automotive end users. We are also launching an actuator-sensor interface (AS-i) device that supports IO-Link communication.
In response to the growing demand in the logistics and material handling industry, we are developing products for mobile robots, automatic guided vehicles (AGVs), and autonomous mobile robots, which are essential for warehouse automation. These products help detect obstacles in the path of AGVs or mobile robots, ensuring safety.
I’d also like to highlight our unique temperature controller for use in pharmaceutical packaging solutions.
