Continental Tires Launches CrossContact H/T Tire Line in India
Premium tire manufacturer Continental Tires has unveiled its latest offering, the CrossContact H/T (H/T standing for Highway/Terrain), in the Indian market. This new tire has been meticulously engineered to cater to the diverse demands of driving on both paved highways and off-road terrain.
Manufactured with precision at the ModiPuram plant, the CrossContact H/T has been custom-tailored to suit the unique conditions of Indian roads. Its adaptable range accommodates rim sizes ranging from 15 inches to 18 inches in diameter, ensuring a seamless fit for all passenger vehicles. A selection of tire variants is already accessible to consumers in India, with the complete lineup set to become available to the market in the forthcoming months.
Samir Gupta, the Managing Director, Continental Tires India and Head of Central Region BA RE APAC, said, “We are excited to introduce CrossContact H/T in India.” He further said,”With its versatile tread pattern, minimal road noise, and enhanced tread lifespan, this product aptly addresses the requirements of Indian drivers, guaranteeing a secure and comfortable journey across the diverse terrains found in India.”
Robust design for on- and off-road drive
The new CrossContact H/T features a versatile tread pattern suitable for passenger cars, crossovers, and SUV tires, with the ability to perform well on asphalt. Its tread, rubber compound, and structure are robust, enabling it to handle mild off-road terrain. To enhance traction on loose stones and uneven tracks, engineers have incorporated “grip teeth” within the tread grooves. These protrusions ensure adequate grip on non-asphalt surfaces. Additionally, the tire shoulders are reinforced to prevent damage from stones and scree.
Engineered to offers high mileage, Comfort and Safety
Low rolling noise enhances ride comfort, and this is evident in the new CrossContact H/T. Its unique tread design reduces noise both inside and outside the vehicle, resulting in approximately a 10% reduction compared to the previous version. This improvement significantly enhances the comfort of occupants, especially during extended journeys.
