Next Gen brings world-class T&M solutions to India
Gujarat’s Vadodara-based Next Gen Equipments Pvt. Ltd. (NGEPL) offers a complete range of high-voltage testing and measuring (T&M) equipment. At ELECRAMA 2023, Next Gen brought a host of state-of-the-art T&M technologies to India from across the world. Watch what the management has to speak about the products and solutions displayed at Elecrama 2023.
Can you just talk about Next Gen as well as can you introduce the product and solutions you offer and the principles you represent?
Next Gen was formed in 2009 with the ambition that we want to provide a very good solution to the transformer industry or the switchgear industry or the cable industry. We slowly started developing the product range in our portfolio, we mainly focus on the European product still because of the quality and the reliability of the product we have. We are very proud to say that almost 70 percent of the transformer testing in India is used to test using our equipment for testing purposes. Almost 100 batteries are being manufactured in the tested with one of the principal products which are ETL. Also, across India, good calibration labs use Calibration labs, which use high-voltage CTs and PTs supplied by it a pro-Austria. Similarly, these products are of very high quality, reliability is excellent and also at the same time if you see we have very good repeated customers coming up to us. We feel proud to have a lot of customers giving repeat orders to us in 10 years now. Also, we represent a few of the companies from Europe which is like Raytech AG Switzerland, we also represent ETL Germany, we represent EPRO Austria, and ISOFARAD Hungary. Recently we added from the UK, as we feel that partial discharge is another field that should be combined with our portfolio.
Rolf Brunold, Senior Engineer from Raytech AG:
I’m the CEO of Raytech Switzerland. Raytech Switzerland was founded in 1995 and since there we are developing and manufacturing test equipment for high-voltage measurement. We are specialized and based on wiring resistance turns ratio, contact ratio, now capacitance, and more. And we are really happy that we are here in India and now we have a perfect representative here in India. And we are proud to present here especially here a world-first-time shown instrument which is called the Mini ATOS. The many ATOS makes nothing else than combining different instruments which are already well-known in the market. This is not new to combine instruments but the new thing is you know Engineers now especially young Engineers are u from childhood on to use their tablets, their phones so the time is over to touch a little screen and have some little buttons. Now the time is that you use any mobile device and connect to the instrument. This is one example this instrument is now connected to this device it could be also connected to your phone, here or two thousand kilometres away because it’s now on the internet. The possibility now is you have everything here so you do not have to stay in the range of danger. And it’s of course much handier to work like this.

Hello everybody my name is Bruno Weber, from ETL Pruftechnik GmbH in Germany. I am the General Sales Manager of this company. We are founded in 1946. We develop all about electrical safety testing. Each product which is put on the market in touch with electricity has to be tested. And we produce these units. Beginning with the Earth continuity test, after the isolation resistance test, after this high voltage AC, high voltage DC, test functional Line run test line leakage test, and so on. all these products are manufactured in Germany at a high level of quality with products sending all over the world and here especially in India we have a very strong partner with Next Gen. They have placed already several orders for us and we are very happy about that situation and we are also very happy to be back after our 3 difficult years now yeah in India and to represent our company.
Christoph Denk, MD, EPRO Gallspach GmbH
My name is Christoph Denk and I’m here for company EPRO. EPRO is a small to medium specialized company owned by a family in Austria. We are specialists in the measurement of high-voltage and high currents. So wherever in the world of the electric industry some customers have to measure highly accurate highest voltages up to 800 kilovolts or the highest current up to 30,000 to 40,000 amperes in a very accurate manner this is our business. Our measurement instruments offer accuracies up to 0.005 percent. Inaccuracy and 0.5 minutes in phase angle. over a complete measurement range from 20 to 120 percent for the voltage or from one to two hundred percent for the current. Additionally, t0 this our newest development is a fully automatic Transformer testing system which you can see here in the background. this is a world unique system that is automating all the tests you have to do in the transformer test area. It offers a very high accuracy together with a very high flexibility plus to this based on the automatic Transformer test system. We are also starting our devices in the insulation material world so also capacitance and tank and shelter measurement according to these very special standards for insulation material for the electric and electronic world can be tested with our insulation test devices.
Sai J Mynampati, GM, IPEC
I’m Sai Mynampati, working as General Manager and the Senior Project Manager for IPEC. We do partial discharge monitoring equipment for all electrical assets. say it’s a generator Motors Transformers or the switchgear and cables. Our product range is into two categories. we do a periodic monitoring which is like a spot testing device, so our engineer or any of the engineer who works in electrical asset protection can go with handheld portable devices to measure the partial discharge activity and when it comes to the continuous monitoring, we have permanently installed sensors inside the switchgear or any other electrical assets to continuously monitor the PD activity. The power cycle concept where our power monitoring is divided into three phases. One is the very first stage is planning stage in coming to the planning stage we usually educate our customers on what is partial, how discharge and monitoring benefit them and gives better critical monitoring for the electrical assets. in thin the stage of plan we would do it into two phases one is they’re helping the customers in specifying our products and end-user understanding about the partial discharge activity. then in the spot testing, we help them to monitor the partial discharge activity sing the basic products of IPEC but they get better results and then come to continuous monitoring. It’s like a 24×7 PD monitoring where you get the alerts for actual partial discharge activity through emails or SMS on daily basis. And apart from that, we do a lot of PD services Our PD Services consist of reporting locating the partial discharge, and generating a lot of case study activities for customers and we are happy to promote our PD products in India through Next Gen.
