Refcold India Expo 2023 Highlights | Post Event Report

Experience the essence of Refcold India Expo’s 6th edition as mojo4industry presents an exclusive showcase of the event held at the Chennai Trade Centre from October 12th to 14th. With a remarkable turnout of 200+ exhibitors and 15,000+ visitors, this gathering united industry leaders for a dynamic exchange of ideas and innovations.

mojo4industry’s comprehensive coverage and engaging activities highlighted the notable participation of renowned exhibitors such as Testo India, Danfoss, Copeland, Grundfos, and Yaskawa, among others, shedding light on their remarkable contributions to the industry.

Delve into the key insights from the post-event report of Refcold India 2023, brought to you by our sponsor, Testo India.

Vimal Chavda, Vice President – Instrumentation, Testo India: Every refrigeration system relies on its compressors, which require regular maintenance and monitoring. To streamline this process, we offer smart electronic manifolds that generate direct reports through your app. These reports facilitate prompt identification and resolution of issues, enabling faster problem-solving. Additionally, we address the challenge of leakages by providing electronic sensors for efficient tracing and measurement, enhancing on-site operations.

Our focus also extends to monitoring electrical parameters, as improper documentation and measurement of these parameters can lead to financial losses, especially considering the long operational hours of compressors. Lastly, for effective cold chain monitoring, we offer comprehensive solutions, including data loggers and cloud-based systems that ensure proper data storage and accessibility, safeguarding your investments.

At Refcold, we specialize in providing tailored solutions for all these critical aspects. We invite you to visit us and explore our range of offerings, as we are committed to delivering the most effective solutions for your needs.

Nagahari Krishna L, Director & Head (Sales) – Industrial Refrigeration & Food, Danfoss Industries: Especially at Refcold, we are pleased to observe a strong emphasis on decarbonization and natural refrigerants, a key focus for Danfoss. We believe this is the direction the world should take, including the refrigeration industry. Consequently, we have consistently introduced various products in the refrigeration domain, particularly within the industrial Refrigeration sector. These include gas detectors and ICFD, a defrosting solution that utilizes internal heat to defrost the system. These solutions are designed to optimize energy consumption in both new and existing plants. Moreover, the majority of these products offer a return on investment within approximately two years, resulting in significant positive reception and adoption.

Sandeep Gupta, VP & MD – India, Copeland India: Copeland, a century-old brand formerly under the wing of Emerson Electric Company, has partnered with ISHRAE, a reliable organization sharing similar goals. Together, we have launched the Refcold India Copeland Awards, recognizing individuals, teams, and companies for their efforts in offering sustainable solutions, high-efficiency products, and commendable projects. Each year, in collaboration with ISHRAE, we assess the endeavors of various teams and entities, particularly focusing on their deployment of cutting-edge solutions within the industry. Additionally, as exhibitors at Refcold, we showcase our latest products, featuring advanced low GWP refrigerants that prioritize higher efficiency while mitigating global warming. Our exhibited products significantly contribute to a more sustainable planet, leaving behind an environmentally friendly legacy for the next generation.

James Antony Sylvester, Head Sales – Industry (South India), Grundfos Pumps: Hello, this is James representing Grundfos Pumps India Private Limited. We are participating in the Refcold Expo for the second time, showcasing our latest pumping solutions. I’d like to highlight one recent product, specifically designed for pumping liquid ammonia. We have adapted our flagship CRN pumps for this purpose, enabling them to handle temperatures as low as -40°C. Constructed entirely of stainless steel (SS 316) and employing a sealless design, this pump ensures minimal environmental impact and eliminates the possibility of leakage. It is equipped with an IE5 motor, capable of managing temperature variations and adjusting the pump speed. The IE5 motor is a highly efficient, cutting-edge technology currently available in the market. Additionally, the pump includes an integrated controller, allowing for easy adjustment of settings based on field requirements.

Sreekumar N, Sr. Manager Sales & Marketing, YASKAWA India: YASKAWA India, a Japanese company specializing in the manufacturing of drives and robotics, offers a range of products, including variable frequency drives (VFDs) tailored for HVAC applications. Our focus lies in providing variable speed control for AHUs (air handling units), chillers, chill water pumps, and ventilation systems in parking areas. Addressing a prevalent concern in the HVAC industry, our product, the U1000, showcased at the Refcold exhibition, directly converts AC into AC, effectively mitigating the generation of harmful harmonics. We aim to demonstrate this technology to our customers through an on-site simulation, highlighting the absence of harmonics in the system. Furthermore, our dedicated HVAC product, the HV600, is designed to manage floor and pressure requirements without the need for additional PLCs. It features a built-in pump logic controller for chill water or primary-secondary chill water pumps, ensuring seamless integration without requiring an extra control interface. Additionally, it comes equipped with communication protocols such as BACnet, simplifying the integration process.
