Renewable Energy India Expo 2021 | Show Report | 15 Sep 21
Hello and welcome to mojo4industry – giving you exclusive coverage from Renewable Energy India Expo 2021.
Here’s the major highlights from the first day of the event being held at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida from September 15th to 17th, 2021.
Saatvik Solar PV Modules get Munich Re insurance
Saatvik Solar announced that their PV modules are now insured by Munich Re.
“The insurance was received after thorough risk assessment tests of the production lines, financial strength, environmental, safety and labour conditions,” the company said.
The insurance solution covers the performance warranty of Saatvik Solar modules for a period of 25 years. The warranty guarantees that the modules will perform to at least 90 percent capacity in the first 10 years and to at least 80 percent in the remaining 15 years.
And ultimately it gives developer of solar power projects additional economic security in the event of an unforeseen loss in performance of the modules. This new insurance solution is a major stepping-stone in financing photovoltaic projects as it provides additional financial security.
Prashant Mathur, Chief Executive Officer, Saatvik Solar said that the cooperation with Munich Re does fully demonstrate that products, technology and service quality of Saatvik have been convincingly recognized and accepted. Meanwhile, the backup by Munich Re will also ensure customers about product quality and efficiency attenuation, thus providing better risk management and control tools for owners and investors.
HPL launches new switchgears at Renewable Energy India Expo
HPL Electric & Power launched three new switchgear products – DC Switch Disconnector up to 1500V DC and 800V AC in 2-, 3-, and 4-Pole configurations at 14th Edition of Renewable Energy Expo 2021. The new switchgear products were unveiled by Bhagwanth Khuba, Minister of State, New and Renewable Energy, Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India at the event.
C.R. Kundu, Sr. Vice President, Switchgear, HPL Electric & Power, said that these best in class products offer the latest technology and innovative designs for long lasting durability. These products are compatible with solar/ PV applications as well as for traditional PV Applications.
The load break switch is a high performance sturdy switch in a compact frame. It provides safe isolation even at low voltages and up to 800V AC. The isolator can perform equally well on either on roof or ground mount solar panel applications. Moreover, the switches have inbuilt safety measure to quench arcs within the mould with the help of Arc Chutes. It also gives efficiency that leads to the low power losses.
The new DC Disconnectors are built particularly for PV applications and are very robust and long-lasting. They have a rated voltage of up to 1500VDC and can be utilised in PV power systems. They provide safe electrical isolation in presence of Arc Chutes to evade chances of hazards due to Arcs developed in DC Circuits. The switches make and break quickly under load conditions.
