Safety and Reliability in Manufacturing Operations | mojo4industry
Do you know, around 50 factory workers are injured and three die in accidents in every day in India? According to the Data published by the government of India’s Labour and Employment Ministry, in three years – between 2014 and 2016, around 3,562 workers lost their lives while 51,124 were injured in accidents in factories across the country. Most of these accidents happen due to the lack of guards and safety equipment, inadequate or inconsistent training to employees, or most importantly – compromised safety.
On the other hand, as complex and interdependent equipment are being increasingly deployed across manufacturing facilities, safety and reliability are becoming critical aspect in today’s industrial ecosystem. Failure of a single component may only result in a small consequence, but it could lead to a catastrophic systemic incident resulting in considerable loss of production time and thereby impacting profitability.
