Speaking of Schmersal India’s milestone of completing 10 years of manufacturing in the country, Michael Ambros, Managing Director of K.A. Schmersal GmbH & Co. KG said, “We take immense pride in witnessing India’s remarkable progress over the past decade. It brings us much joy to be a part of the Indian community. We have complete faith in India’s current and future success story. We are resolute in our decision to increase our investments in its people, production, and real estate. This decision is driven by our recognition of India as a thriving market.”
Ambros further added, “The Competence Center has emerged as a key driver, particularly in research and development (R&D), information technology (IT), and software. We understand that a solid infrastructure and foundation are crucial to success. Just as a cup is essential for holding liquid, a solid infrastructure, and foundations are indispensable for success in any endeavor.”
Sagar Bhosale, Managing Director of Schmersal India said, “We have established our presence systematically, taking one step at a time. It all began with the establishment of a training organization, followed by a manufacturing facility. After two years, we expanded further with an export-oriented unit and a free trade warehouse zone. Subsequently, we added an IT Center, an engineering center, and most recently, an IoT Center. This journey has been immensely gratifying as it has enabled us to develop comprehensive solutions that cater to the current and future needs of the industry.”
Bhosale said, “The Indian market itself exhibits a highly positive growth trend, offering abundant expansion potential. Through the establishment of our plant, the transfer of production lines, and, most importantly, localizing our products, we have positioned ourselves for significant growth in this market. Currently, Schmersal India contributes 20 percent of our overall turnover, demonstrating rapid growth. With the addition of more production lines and an established setup, I am confident that this growth trajectory will continue in the coming years.”
Henning Carl, International Production Director of K.A. Schmersal GmbH & Co. KG said, “It has been satisfying to witness the growth of our team and the positive relationships we have cultivated with both suppliers and customers. The importance of understanding and cooperation cannot be overstated. Regardless of our backgrounds and destinations, respect for people is crucial. Moving forward, our focus is on localizing components, which can be challenging as it involves finding suitable suppliers and ensuring quality coordination. However, we are committed to taking the necessary steps, not only in terms of components but also in advancing our product technology.”
Rajesh Nath, Managing Director of VDMA India said, “First and foremost, on behalf of the German Engineering Federation, I extend my congratulations to the Schmersal and Schmersal India teams. As a family-owned company, Schmersal’s confidence in the Indian market exemplifies the trust German family-owned enterprises place in these opportunities. Schmersal offers unique products that stand apart.”
Nath further added, “Today, we learned about Schmersal’s intention to localize their operations further in India. This strategic decision presents excellent growth opportunities for them. Safety holds significant importance in the Indian manufacturing industry, making Schmersal’s products highly relevant and timely. It is the right product, in the right place, at the right time to cater to the safety needs of the Indian manufacturing sector.”
Ramji Singh, Vice President of Schmersal India, said, “I would like to express my appreciation for our Global Management. They recognize the importance of supporting our local customers in India while also serving the global market. It is worth mentioning that we are proud members of the BIS committee, actively contributing to safety standards development. Additionally, we have been invited to join the ISO committee, where we provide valuable feedback to enhance international safety standards. This is a crucial aspect of the Indian market.”
“We take pride in being one of the fastest-growing leaders in the safety segment. Schmersal has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing one hundred crore revenue in just 13-14 years. To further expand our presence, we are investing in increasing our on-ground workforce, enhancing our coverage. We are actively developing partnerships to strengthen our network. Furthermore, we continue to focus on developing new products, with support from Germany. This enables us to introduce new lines in our factory and add value to our offerings,” Ramji concluded.
