Laser Technologies to start manufacturing by 2025
Incubated in June 2011 by Rakesh Agarwal and a team of technocrats, Laser Technologies Pvt Ltd has grown from a mission to provide cost-effective and innovative laser solutions for Indian manufacturers, particularly MSMEs, into a leading force in the laser industry. Today, the company is known for selling an average of one laser machine per day. But their ambitions donโt stop thereโthey are now preparing to enter the next big phase by starting laser machine manufacturing in India.
In an exclusive interview, Subhajit Roy, Editor of mojo4industry, sits down with Rakesh Agarwal, Managing Director of Laser Technologies Pvt Ltd, to discuss the companyโs journey, their vision for the future, and whatโs next for this pioneering company.
Laser Technologies has recently celebrated its 13th anniversary. Starting from humble beginnings, the company has become a prominent name in the laser segment. Looking back, how do you see this journey?
Itโs been both inspiring and challenging. When we started Laser Technologies, the goal was to build a company and a community around laser technology. Back in 2010, there was a significant lack of awareness about laser applications in India. There were no exhibitions focused on lasers, and the machines were prohibitively expensive, putting them out of reach for many MSMEs. We identified this gap and aimed to fill it. We began advocating for fiber lasers as early as 2011, a time when CO2 lasers dominated the market. Despite the challenges, our persistence paid off, and by 2017-2018, we were leading the industry, selling almost one laser machine every day. Today, we are proud to have set trends and to have been the torchbearers in this industry.
Ambitions are indeed limitless. From starting small to now selling almost a laser machine a day, where do you wish to take Laser Technologies next? What is your vision for the future?
Our vision for the near future is to start manufacturing this technology in India, making it completely indigenous. We also aim to take this vision to the global level, sharing our innovations worldwide. We are working hard towards this goal.
When can we expect you to start your manufacturing, and where will the factory be located?
We expect to start manufacturing within a year. The factory will be set up in Chakan, Pune. Although I canโt reveal too much at this stage, I can say that we have some significant joint venture plans in the works. So, in a year, you can expect some good news.
Will this manufacturing be under the Laser Technologies brand?
Thatโs a suspense. Youโll have to wait and see.
Stay tuned for more updates from Laser Technologies as they continue to innovate and expand their footprint in the global laser industry.
